Downsizing Cost
When you are first pierced, we install a longer post/barbell (larger diameter for piercings done with rings) to allow space for swelling. As the swelling subsides you’ll notice more of the bar showing, and may experience it catching on things. The movement and catching can cause irritation, and may even shift the angle of your piercing over time. During your initial appointment and in your aftercare email you’ll be given a time frame in which we recommend you downsize your piercing; if you believe you may need a downsize sooner let us know!
Downsize Price Estimate
For downsizing there is a $15 tray fee per appointment that covers your piercers’ time and supplies. For most straight bars and non-gemmed curved bars, the shorter bars will be $25 +tax each. Gemmed curved bars range $30-60 +tax each. For downsizing piercings that are at a 10 gauge or larger, please contact us for a quote. After downsizing you’ll keep your longer bar; we recommend holding on to the piece to have on hand in case of bumps/swelling. Additionally the jewelry from your initial piercing potentially can be used for another piercing in the future. (see reusing jewelry below).
Reusing Jewelry
We are able to reuse jewelry purchased from our studio, as well as jewelry from other reputable studios provided there is receipt to confirm the material and manufacturer. The jewelry must be dropped of at least 45 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow time for the jewelry to be decontaminated and reprocessed. Staff will also verify that the style and size of the jewelry is appropriate for the new piercing.
The cost for reprocessing jewelry is a flat $20 fee. This covers all jewelry that is reprocessed at the time.
